Abstract:The the rmotropic liquid crystal main chain aromatic polyesters were synthesized by solution polycondensation of 4,4'- (alkanedicarbonyldioxy) dibenzoyl dichlorides and 4,4'--dihydroxybipenyl. The inherent viscosity of the polymer was measured, with a Ubbelohcle viscometer. The properties of liquid crystal were chracterized comprehensively by using a polarizing microscope, a DSC instrument and X-ray diffractometre.
