Abstract:It is recognized in this paper that the screening contants of electrons for the neighbowing outer electronic shell are changed and become larger and smaller alternately, ie, the successive electronic shells are situated in loose and tight state alternately relative to the ideal standard state. This phenomena is called "The alternation effect of loosenese and tightness". After considering in the meantime the other two screening effect of electrons (S2 screening effect and d10 screening effect), the authors have found a alternation rule of looseness and tightress for the atomic model, and have discussed its presentation on ionization potentials, covalent radius, ionic radius and electronegativity of elements, as well as the application of this sule to explain many important propesties of the elements and compounds in the periodie table
